Destroyed by Ike
[edit]News reports have stated that Gilchrist was pretty much totally destroyed by Hurricane Ike. I am tagging this for future revision. Deatonjr (talk) 01:31, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Relinked handbook and put sections for History/Notes
[edit]18-Sep-2008: I have reformatted the article to use the typical Wikipedia sections named "History" and "Notes" (for ref-tag notes), adding years for "Gibb Gilchrist (1887-1972)" plus source footnotes. I fixed the footnote URL links to the Handbook of Texas Online, from incorrect web addresses which got re-routed to the home page of the Handbook instead: "www.tsha.utexas.edu" was updated to "www.tshaonline.org". -Wikid77 (talk) 12:39, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
Images
[edit]Any reason why the two satellite images are on an angle? Looks pretty awkward. Additional: I checked the NOAA page so I see the angled image originates from NOAA, but perhaps someone could adjust the image orientation for use on Wikipedia? I don't think there's a rule against it as long as the image information page indicates it was adjusted. 23skidoo (talk) 19:13, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
